On the 29th of June 2015, SEA president Pietro Modiano proudly introduced a new technologically advanced structure.<\/p>\n

Milan Malpensa Airport is, in fact, the first airport in the world to have a permanent theatre for holographic projections, where visitors can enjoy 3D contents without using specific glasses.<\/p>\n

At Malpensa Airport Terminal 1, the entrance turned into \u201cSoglia Magica\u201d, the big space housing the exhibition. A weightless curtain of light and artificial fog illuminated the passage of travellers.<\/p>\n

The architects wanted to capture the imagination of those passing by, even of those in a hurry.<\/p>\n

Holographic Theatre\u00a0 produced by Studio Tangram \u2013 Italian partner of MDH Hologram and world leader for holographic technology \u2013 perfectly fulfilled the architects\u2019 requests.<\/p>\n

SEA, the operator of Milan Linate and Milan Malpensa airports, has always supported the arts by organising exhibitions, concerts, and cultural events.<\/p>\n

This time it also gave the audience the chance to live a new sensory experience.<\/p>\n

During the opening ceremony, also Monsignor Borgonovo \u2013 President of Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano \u2013 and Sergio Gianzini \u2013 Director of I.S.S.M. Giacomo Puccini in Gallarate \u2013 acclaimed this innovative communication form.<\/p>\n

Everyone entering the Terminal 1 of the airport could enjoy the projections running, for a total of 30 minutes, from 8am to 10pm everyday.<\/p>\n

The project was conceived as an ever-changing installation that could always surprise the viewer while entering or leaving the airport. The first projections, 7 different clips both in Italian and English, showed the city of Milan \u2013 real star of the event together with SEA. The city landmarks, such as the majestic Duomo, were masterly illustrated by the hologram of famous art historian Philippe Daverio. No one could help humming the famous songs, reinterpreted by the holograms of the talented students of Gallarate Conservatory, or being captivated by Fausto Melotti\u2019s Sette Savi. In 2013, in fact, Melotti\u2019s sculptures underwent a restoration project, sponsored by SEA and Milan municipality.<\/p>\n

To create the holograms we used an Holographic Theatre\u00a0installation. The overall structure was 9.6m x 7.2m x 4.1m.<\/p>\n

Reactions<\/strong><\/p>\n

Newspapers, magazines and social media spread the news, so that the Holographic Theatre of Malpensa was literally in the spotlight.<\/p>\n

The crowd was captured by the holographic films projected \u2013 videos were immediately shared on the Internet, with extremely detailed descriptions that intrigued many cinema and music lovers.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner]
